A call to all contributors – a chance to go from online to offline

Dear readers/contributors,

We now have a real chance to take our fight from the online world to the offline world. The real bad world of bureaucracy, control chains, courtrooms, laws, and bills.

The question is – “WILL YOU TAKE THE PAIN?”

I’m sorry that this piece of news escaped my attention. I’m really sorry. The Government of India has appointed the Justice Verma Committee for concrete results.

The Committee has invited suggestions from the public. Here is our great chance to be heard. Here is our acid test. There’s one catch though, the last day is 5th January, 2013.

Initially, I thought I would invite contributions and then send them under the common umbrella of “VOICES FOR DAMINI”.

But through a facebook group, I came across a gentleman Mr. Murlidaran Raman. He is already collecting articles for pending to the Committee.

I believe this is the time to go beyond name and distinction. No more ‘you’. No more ‘I’. A common ‘we’. So I hand over this campaign to Mr. Raman.

Send your articles to Mr. Raman (safenation4wome n@gmail.com).

Or, if you are of an independent bent of mind send it directly to the Committee’s mail id (justice.verma@nic.in).

Keep the fight alive. No one will fight in your place. Self help is the best help. And yes we are not selfless. We do it keeping the future in mind. Our dream – a better India for our children and grandchildren.

NO MORE CYNICISM.

P. S : only send suggestions. No criticism. No emotional rants. For those type of articles you still have VOICES FOR DAMINI. I have big dreams for VOICES FOR DAMINI. But i’ll share that dream only when it completes 100 articles.

Subh, you should put all the articles together and publish a book and then set up a foundation
(for women’s rights) with the funds.

Here’s an interesting, thought-provoking quote for you:

I am gathering some vital information regarding the existing law and order. Also informed a few people to send in their suggestions. Will be sending them to Mr. Raman shortly.
Thanks for informing Subh. Although I knew about the Justice Verma Committee but unfortunately was a little less informed about it!
